The majority of our practice is dedicated to Family Law matters in all East Bay counties. We provide exceptional service to clients through diligent and compassionate representation. We understand that Family Law matters are inherently difficult on the families involved. Wills and Trusts
The attorneys at Cummins & Holmes work with clients to assist them in planning for their futures and providing for their loved ones. We provide counsel to help our clients determine what is the best way to achieve their goals, whether it be through the creation of trusts, wills, living wills, or powers of attorney. The most important aspect of estate planning is ensuring that our clients’ personal matters and financial affairs are appropriately handled upon their death or disability.

General Civil Litigation
We represent plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of civil litigation matters. Whether it is breach of contract, personal injury, employment litigation, or business litigation the attorneys at Cummins & Holmes are experienced and dedicated to resolving the matter as expeditiously and effectively as possible.



About Mary Whipple

Profile
Mary Whipple was born and raised in Modesto, California which is located in the heart of the Central Valley; Modesto is probably best known as the home of Gallo Wine and the birthplace and childhood home of George Lucas.

Mary earned a bachelor of science degree in criminology from Southern Oregon University, in Ashland, Oregon. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she enrolled at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and earned her juris doctor in 2004. Upon graduation, Mary returned to her native state of California where she was admitted to the practice of law in 2005. Mary lived in San Francisco and worked as a contract attorney for O’Melveny & Meyers while simultaneously volunteering at the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Volunteer Legal Services Program representing defendants in unlawful detainer actions. VLSP awarded Mary with an Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service Award for 2006 for her efforts in providing access to justice.

In the spring of 2006 Mary joined the Law Office of Cummins & Holmes as an associate attorney and has since made her home in San Ramon, which is located in San Francisco’s East Bay area. Cummins & Holmes is a full-service civil litigation law firm with the majority of the practice dedicated to Family Law matters in all East Bay counties. Family Law encompasses a broad practice area that includes divorce, custody, support, pre-nuptial agreements, restraining orders, and powers of attorney.

During her time with Cummins & Holmes Mary has also represented clients in a variety of non-Family Law cases such as juvenile dependency, probate, breach of contract, and employment disputes, to name a few.

Aside from practicing law, Mary is active in her community as a member of Soroptimist International of San Ramon Valley, which is a service organization made up of professional and business women who are dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in the community and throughout the world. Mary also volunteers her time with the Contra Costa County Superior Court where she teaches a class on “How to Start Your Dissolution” for self represented litigants, and she participates in the Contra Costa County Bar Association’s “Family Law Attorney Night” where she provides free consultations regarding Family Law matters to members of the community.
